Russia Halts Some Oil Wells But Keeps Production Data Secret

That’s not new. Anything vital has been kept a secret in Russia since forever. It’s not a society that thrives on information and the competition of ideas. It’s a society that still functions as a Khanate. People don’t even want to know as information (true information) is considered dangerous and in Russia it probably is. Russia never wanted to give information on its gas production either. When you conclude a GSPA with Gazprom, all you get is that the gas will come from the Unified Gas System. I guess Russia’s upstream is a mess ready to blow since long before the war. That’s why it needs to be kept secret.

Moscow pledged to curb output by 500,000 barrels a day in retaliation for western energy sanctions and to support the price of its oil.
