Sinopec makes “breakthrough” ultra-deep shale gas discovery in China’s Sichuan basin

Wait a minute – the deepest ever found fossil of a dinosaur was found in Norway at a depth of 2100 meters. Much deeper than that it’s hard to find any fossils at all and below 5000 meters it’s utterly impossible. How do we find gas at 7000 meters depth? We were always told that oil and gas are the product of the decay of biological organisms. How did those organisms get there where there are no fossils? There is – of course – also the abiotic oil and gas thesis which I find a huge lot more convincing. But if this is true, if oil and gas are the geological emanation of Earth then they are not fossil fuels but the milk of Earth. Time to get back to facts.
