Smart meter customers face time-of-day charging plan

How is a consumer to verify if whatever the smart meter says is actually correct? Yes, I know they promise not to fiddle with the data received but this promise was broken so often that I have a hard time believing anything. What if utilities controlling the meter play with the values? What if they add volumes little by little at times when few people would be awake? We never had perfect control over the numbers but with the new meters, we are fully at the whim of others. Ah yes, imagine energy needs to be rationed or someone needs to be punished for bad behavior. Shall we be worried?

I was introduced to and met Rudi in Angola when he started to develop his Sub Saharan Africa network.
