There will be phonebook thick reports with plenty of excuses about why it was not renewables that caused this. And the immediate source might not even have been Renewable Energy. But Renewables bring a lot of instability into the grids and the flicker factor also necessitated the interconnection between national grids. This has been sold as electricity markets to us. I was introduced to and met Rudi in Angola when he started to develop his Sub Saharan Africa network. At the time he worked for EconGas/OMV and he tried organizing longterm LNG supply for them under the unlikeliest of all circumstances.
