U.S., China will be world’s biggest LNG exporter and importer in 2024

I am not so sure about this. The US certainly has the potential to become a huge LNG exporter. I still think though that once Americans understand that it’s better to use the LNG at home in order to transform the transport industry, they won’t export that much anymore. Its a better value proposition. And on China as the biggest buyer, they already now struggle to pay for Natural Gas and this will get worse in time, so they will go more into co-al as its cheaper. In both cases, the potential sure is there. But there are strong drivers that might end it before it starts.

The United States and China will become the world’s biggest liquefied natural gas (LNG) exporters and importers, respectively, in five years, according to projections by the International Energy Agency (IEA).
