United States produces more crude oil than any country, ever

In the oil world, there are 3 kinds of oil producers. The giants – only the US, Russia, and Saudi Arabia make it into this group. Together they account for almost one-third of global oil production. Then the big boys with millions of barrels per day but not two digits. And then the small fry below 1 million barrels per day. I expect Russian oil production to fall off a cliff pretty soon because of the effects of the war in Ukraine and the resulting neglect. Also, some of the oil infrastructure there is very old and creaky. Saudi Arabia was always the smallest among the 3 and has little prospect for growth so soon we will have one supergiant which is the US and the rest. Shale has changed the world.

I was introduced to and met Rudi in Angola when he started to develop his Sub Saharan Africa network.
